Ten-year-old-detective Cam Jansen, an observant girl with a photographic memory, is standing in line for tickets with her friend, Eric, when a mean person dressed as a ghost starts scaring people, including an old man who appears to have a heart attack. Only Cam notices that the two appear to be working together, creating a diversion during which cash is stolen. Christina Moore has done a great job narrating the popular Cam Jansen series. She creates a believable cast of characters who express a variety of emotions; her Cam is likably coolheaded and logical when solving mysteries. Other young detectives will be encouraged to listen carefully for clues as they reason their way to a solution. J.C.G. (c) AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine
