They cost much less to construct than a traditional residential structure, and they offer an affordable path to homeownership for those affected by inflation and the chaotic and fluctuating real estate market. Energy efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, and less waste in materials during the building process are also listed as benefits. The book includes a gallery of barndominium doors, floors, kitchens, outdoor areas, great rooms, and tables to jumpstart design inspiration and imagination. There's also a resource guide for homeowners to contact businesses that specialize in this type of building and design. The author discusses barndo types, exterior features, the importance of sun positioning, construction stages, and, of course, design elements.
